My last of the assortment pack from Long Trail was the Belgian White. It was a yellowish unfiltered wheat beer. Although i liked the initial taste there was a bit of a Windex after taste. I have try 2 of the 3 beers so far and the same taste is evident. I even had my wife taste it to make sure i wasn't losing it and she concurred.
Ok I had the last one and no more windex taste but I still wasn't impressed.

Long Trail Hefeweizen
My third of the Long Trail beers was the Hefeweizen. It was unfiltered and a nice light amber in color the aroma was pleasant with a slight hint of wheat and the head was able to pass the bottle cap test (float a bottle cap on it). It had a refreshing taste that had hints of wheat but was not over powering.

Long Trail Ale
Long Trail Blackbeary Wheat
OK so I went out and picked up a couple of assortment packs of micro-brew beer, Long Trail being one and where I started.
Long Trail Blackbeary Wheat was the first in the pack I tried. I was a bit tentative at first since I normally do not like fruity beers or beers with fruit in them but I was pleasantly surprised. The blackberry tones did not over power the beer taste. It was just enough to give it a little something, although I doubt I could have more then 3 or 4 at one sitting before the blackberry taste would get too sweet. The beer flavor itself was nice and refreshing but a little light for my tastes.
So I'll give it a 3 1/2 out of 5 Beers

PS - I have to admit I drank it right out of the bottle so I never got to view the color or head, but I'm still learning.

My Journey begins
After years of drinking Budweiser, which I still think is a fine beer, I have started to broaden my beer horizons. It all started a number of years ago I was introduced to Yuengling and it was good. After years of religiously drinking Yuengling a friend introduced me to Blue Moon and it was better. This made me think, what else could be out there.
I've recently embarked on a wonderful journey, a journey of Beer. I am out to experience all sorts of beers from all over the country and the world and hopefully I'll start brewing my own. So pull up a bar stool and let's go.
